Schnibbles - No Way

Way back in June 2010, I started this Schnibbles quilt called, "No Way" and I am just now finishing putting the blocks in rows. It's been on my design wall since then and I've been sewing it when I found time. I used this as a leaders and enders for my DWR as I sewed the four patches together.

June Deadline - No Way

Here's a photo of the 25 blocks for the Schnibbles for June. I still have to trim them, but at least all 25 are put together. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Spring Sewing Party

Updated Sunday Morning: I had a great time at the party and hope to join next time! Got my February Schnibbles totally finished. Updated 10:00 p.m. I saw that the pinwheel sampler from p.s. I quilt had posted directions for block 2, so I went ahead and finished those up!! Not happy with the points, maybe I'll re-do and maybe I won't. Think I'm going to hand sew the binding on my Sunday Best now. Updated 7:40 p.m. I'm going to stop working on Sunday Best until later in front of the TV for hand sewing it. Now, what should I work on for a bit??? I'll look around. Update: I played tennis this morning so I really, really got a late start. The sewing party motivated me to quilt the Schnibbles Sunday Best and now I only have the binding and I can finish this in February!!! I should have told you that the only thing I could bring to eat is Reese's peanut butter eggs. It was a package of six, but, alas, there's only two left. Hmmm... I haven...

Sunday Best Updates

Here's my top-all finished, well, it's not quilted, but you know, the top is finished. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Sunday Best Update

Yikes, this took way longer than it should have! Lots went wrong. I'd cut four colored blocks too small and they were the pretty ones. So I cut new ones, but from the not-so-pretty leftover charms. I'd sewn the rows together and didn't like the colors, so I just flipped the blocks around and tweaked the colors. Didn't look at the layout and it was so screwed up!!! So, took it all out and put it back together with great care to watch the pattern and to try to keep the colors pleasing. Check it out and look for mistakes and let me know, okay? Ugh!! It took twice as long as it should have. On to the borders. Whew!!!

Sunday Best February Schnibbles

Yippee! I got my pattern and fabric for February Schnibbles which is named Sunday Best. Can't wait to get started! This is the earliest I've started ever!! Soooo pretty!!!

Finished January Project

I did it!! I held off doing my first Dear Jane quilt block to finish my one project a month/January Schnibbles!!! I'm really excited to actually finish something. I think this blogging thing is starting to make me accountable for my projects. Madeline is done! What do you think? Can't show you the quilting up close as I'm not really good yet. Too many crossovers and a few bird nests on the back creeped in. Done is definitely better than perfect, for now!! Not sure how many more quilts I need to do before I declare myself a better quilter and demand perfection. I have so many online projects I've signed up for an bought fabric for...crazy stupid, but I couldn't decide which ones not to do!!! Yahoo!!!

Schnibbles - Madeline Update

I've loaded Madeline on my Handi-Quilter and can't decide if I want to try freehand or use the Pro-Stitcher. I haven't done a quilt since November and I'm pretty rusty. Maybe some meandering? Stippling? I think I'll use it as practice. I'll let you know, if you have suggestions, I'd love to hear them! I need to finish this to use as my "Schnibbles" and "One Project a Month" challenges so I can't start my first block of my Dear Jane quilt yet. Darn!! The software is so similar to EQ6 so not much of a learning curve. I just installed it on my laptop for now. I did play with it a bit and these blocks are very, very, very small! This could take years and years. I was supposed to make 9 blocks the first month and I'm behind four months. I dare not look at months 2-4, if they are 9 blocks also, I'm 36 blocks behind already. Good thing I haven't looked! There's so many online BOMs that I've signed up for and have purchase...

January Schnibbles - Madeline - Update

Yikes, I just finished the outer border on my Madeline Schnibbles and all I have to do is quilt it and then the binding. Gosh, this is the closest I've come to getting a Schnibbles done on time! I really want to play with my Dear Jane software and get started, but I'm forcing myself to finish my January projects first. Ugh!

Madeline

Hmmm...this photo seems a bit orange on my iPhone. LOL Sewed the blocks together, then the rows so I'll do borders tomorrow, think I can finish it by the end of January? Fingers crossed. I "borrowed" Kim's block placement/fabric choices using L'amour from Moda.

Design Wall Monday

I've joined Judy L 's Design Wall Monday and hope to NOT embarrass myself with the same project on my design wall every Monday!!! This is my January Schnibbles Madeline. The nine blocks are finished and have to move on to the next step. Hopefully, I can use this for both my Schnibbles and Project of the Month challenges. Trick is, have to finish it!!! All I need is some motivation. LOL

Schnibbles - Tuffets

This is my attempt at Schnibbles last month! Got the pattern and fabric and that's all I've done. They have probably removed me from the list...going to get caught up this month!

My Santa List

Kelly at Charming Chatter is hosting a wonderful wishlist give-away . Kelly wants to hear our favorite Chrismas memory. We should also share our Christmas wish from things offered from her quilt shop. How sweet!!! We lived in a center hall Colonial and our bedroom door was right near the steps. Nearly every year, my four children would come into our room EARLY and beg us to let them go down and see if Santa came. I made them wait and wait and wait at the top of the stairs to build up the excitement (they'd inch their way down, step by step) until one year, the oldest had this brilliant idea of going down and checking first and then he woke everyone up saying that Santa came...needless to say, we had a long discussion with him about the Santa thing for his younger siblings!!! Back to the give-away, here's my list of things I'd love to have from her shop: The thing I really, really, really want is the Stella Blue quilt kit--did you see the colors??? How can you resist? I wan...

Schnibbles - Way Behind

Here's my October Schnibbles - just the top. Sigh. Just now choosing my "Picnic" fabric for November...no parade for me AGAIN!

So Many Quilts, So Little Time

Had a great Thanksgiving, hope you did, too! I found a great app for my iPhone that is really going to help me stay organized with my quilting projects!!! We shall see. I have a ton of quilts planned: Finish my grandson's nursery Schnibbles - November (after today, December's too) Bonnie Hunter's Carolina Christmas Fat Quarter's Bespoke Blooms Twiddletail's Dear Jane So many more...

Schnibbles - October

I'm going to get started on October's Schnibbles. Here's the one chosen - Cindy Lou Who . Not sure what fabrics I'll use, but I just might buy one of those Fit To Be Geese rulers. Got my backing fabric today for my September Schnibbles. Going to do my new grandchild's nursery bedding and I got the fabric on Saturday for that. I'll get a photo soon.

Schnibbles - Top With Borders

Okay, I'm getting closer to quilting this September Schnibbles. I've added the borders and it's not too bad. I'll pick up some fabric for a backing/binding tomorrow and try to get it quilted. I really enjoyed this one and I can't wait for October's!

Schnibbles - Top Finished - Sort of

Well, I didn't quite get September's Schnibbles finished in time, but I did get the top finished. I'll try to get the borders added and quilt it before I start next month's. I didn't really have enough time since I got such a late start, but I wanted to join in the group! Here's the top: I did it with Halloween fabrics because I've been trying to get a wall hanging for every holiday and I might even get this one finished for Halloween. Thanks for checking it out!

Schnibbles - First Row Completed

I've finished the first row of my Halloween Schnibbles!!! Check it out!
