A-3 Hunter's Moon



Updated from my earlier whine! LOL

A-3 Hunter's Moon

I still have to do some cleaning and squaring up, but I just may do it over when I get better at hand-piecing and applique.

Here's how I ended up doing it, after trying several ways:

I cut the background on the diagonal and machine-stitched it back together.
Cut the circle out of the middle.
Cut the melons and the center star.
Hand-sewed the melons to the center star creating a circle.
Hand-sewed the circle into the main background block.

I kept using the same fabric and it's quite frayed now, but I'm ready to move on and see what's next. If I get better down the road, I'll re-do this block with clean, fresh fabric and will be sure the star and the background are going the same way.

No pic because I did the colors in reverse!!! I have to start all over. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

    This block is taking forever...pic coming soon, but I'm really not very good at this hand-piecing/applique stuff.

Making Some Headway

Wow, finally got all the Kids Will Be Kids blocks put together!!! On to the borders next! I can't wait to get it on the HQ! I worked on my January calendar and still need a few more days. Can't decide which fabric to add. I was trying to use just what I finished, but I think I'll just use some from current projects because I can't get enough done in one month. :) I also worked on my Double Delight a bit tonight, but I'm having trouble getting my on-point squares to not shift when sewing. I need to get those pins Bonnie talks about in her video on her Quiltville site. That's it for Sunday. Gloria
