Hooked on Quilting

Here's what's up on my design wall today: This is really the Dottie Do Little Mystery from Jean Ann Quilts and is part of the Sunbonnet Sleuth mysteries . The directions were a bit confusing and I didn't purchase the correct fabrics so I had to substitute and I don't like what I had on hand. I bought aqua and in one of her directions, she included teal from out of the blue, but I just thought she meant aqua, so now I have lots of aqua and no teal and an oddball green. Although it doesn't look too bad in this photo, I would have liked more blue-ish colors and not better greens as part of the shopping list. I volunteered to be a tester. <grin>  I'm doing a yellow and pink inner borders and white outer border with gray for binding. Not sure about the backing yet. I think I will see what I have leftover and see if I can substitute here and there.  Linking this to Patchwork Times  design wall Mondays. 

I was able to get a bunch of projects moved forward today. I was able to sew quite a bit today (Saturday). My February goals are: 1. Pot Holders/Mitts - I cut the fabric for them (TODAY), just have to quilt it and then cut them. 2. Dino's - Cut valances for two windows (TODAY). Each are two fabrics and one appliqued Dino per window. I will go back to the quilt next. 3. Dear Jane - Almost finished two blocks, should finish tomorrow, will post pics then. 4. Baltimore Autumn - I didn't finish Block 1, so I'll probably tackle it again in February. 5. Baltimore Christmas - Didn't finish Block 1, might continue or move on to Block 2. I think Block 1 is the hardest of all of them. 6. Baltimore Halloween - Block 2 here I come!!! 7. Baltimore Liberty - None much was done in January. :( 8. Vintage Valentine - About halfway on this one - Block 1. 9. Country Cottages - Little embroidery left, then will move to Block 2. 10. Nursery stuff - Started a pillow awhile ago, p...

I'm really enjoying visiting all the blogs from the " Grow Your Blog " party and if you've stopped by to enter the giveaway, please click through to this  post .  I did some sewing over the weekend and worked on some new projects.  I finished this Dear Jane block B-8 Water Lily. I'm really working hard on getting two blocks done each week.  I'm also working on this Sweetheart Mystery  today, but I didn't get many steps finished. I opted to do the HSTs first, so all I have left is the bigger pieces.  Not really a mystery now, but it is easy and fun.  This is the Sunbonnet Sleuth Mystery that is more modern and they are really growing on my, quick and easy and 'clean' looking.  Still trying to organize my studio.
