Hooked on Quilting

So, here's what's been going on with me in January.  Started and finished the top for the  Sweetheart Mystery .   Started and finished a wall hanging for the  " Project Quilting " at Persimon Dreams , which I'm probably not going to do again.  I have too much on my plate to stop and do something start-finish in one month. :( Finished Baltimore Halloween, all but the eyes, spider eyes and legs and the owl's feet.  Sewed some Dear Jane blocks.  Did three steps of Easy Street (at least some of the three steps).  Finished my pot holder and mitt. For my birthday a couple of years ago, my daughter and her husband made me a design wall. It was 10' wide and 8' tall.  It was in 2' increments (so I could transport it, not as sturdy as the 4x8's) and placed on a wooden frame. He even sent me a video of how to assemble it!!! You can see the remains of it below. It was the only 10' wall upstairs that allowed me to take pics from the full design wall. Well, my studio is a finished room over the top of a very generous three-car garage. It's a wonderful room, however, all the side walls are vaulted/slanted and the end walls have windows, so there's no place tall enough for this 10' frame! I wish the studio were cleaner so I could share. :( I ended up using it out in the middle where the slants start, but it blocked most of the room. Trying something new here as nothing I've tried has ever really worked. I'm going to choose 13 projects to work on for the month of January.  Naturally, I chose 13 because it's 2013 and it's a lucky number, right? So, if I were to work at least 15 minutes a day on each of these projects and there's 30 days left in January, that would mean I should have worked a total of 7 3/4 hours on each project. I spent some time getting it all ready for a quick transition from one project to the next. I would like to see all 13 of them move forward each day, but I'm hoping that I get hooked and keep moving on just one project. I'm going to use a timer and be sure each one gets its fair share and will rotate the projects so each gets to be #1 at least twice. I've got my spreadsheet all worked out for this micro-management system. I did it a couple of days during 2012 and I found that it works for me as it seems to prevent boredom and keeps "in the project....

My next project that I need to finish is aprons for my granddaughter. The Dino at the bottom is the next applique project that I SHOULD be working on!! Have a wonderful holiday in case I don't get back to the blog.
