Schnibbles - Madeline Update

I've loaded Madeline on my Handi-Quilter and can't decide if I want to try freehand or use the Pro-Stitcher. I haven't done a quilt since November and I'm pretty rusty. Maybe some meandering? Stippling? I think I'll use it as practice. I'll let you know, if you have suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

I need to finish this to use as my "Schnibbles" and "One Project a Month" challenges so I can't start my first block of my Dear Jane quilt yet. Darn!! The software is so similar to EQ6 so not much of a learning curve. I just installed it on my laptop for now. I did play with it a bit and these blocks are very, very, very small! This could take years and years. I was supposed to make 9 blocks the first month and I'm behind four months. I dare not look at months 2-4, if they are 9 blocks also, I'm 36 blocks behind already. Good thing I haven't looked!

There's so many online BOMs that I've signed up for and have purchased fabric so this should force me to get something done!!! I'm a sucker for joining in with others...can't help myself. I really need a good way to keep track so I don't miss out on the downloads each month. Suggestions? How do you keep track?

Just curious, do you give names to your sewing machines?

UPDATE:

Quilting is finished. I did alternating loops, but lots and lots overlapping. I really need to practice looking ahead and planning loops. Off to do the binding...almost the end of January!

Online Quilt Festival - Spring 2009

What a great idea to host an online Quilt Festival ! Thanks to Amy @ Park City Girl! Be sure to stop by and add your favorite quilt! Well, I really want to join in this huge event, so I'm hoping that an almost completed quilt will qualify! I've chosen my Hungry Caterpillar quilt as my favorite because it is my best to date and who doesn't want to show their best? Of course, I have a long way to go, but I'm learning with each and every quilt. This quilt's story goes like this...it was a kit! I'm not ready to chose my own fabrics/colors just yet (may never be!). I got the kit and went to work trying to hit the one-year old granddaughter's birthday (missed it, of course). I simply loved its simplicity since it was panels that I just put together, but it was a good ego boost for this quilting novice, not to mention the practice I'd gotten! So, I loaded on my new HQ16 with the ProStitcher and it sat until I found a digital pattern to go with it. Once again, I

Grow Your Blog Party

THIS GIVEAWAY IS OVER. Next time???? Winner announced here . Welcome to the Grow Your Blog Party that is being hosted by Vicki of 2 Bags Full ! As you can see by the tabs at the top of the page, I became "hooked on quilting" in 2007, but I didn't really complete many quilts...they are still here waiting for their turn! LOL I have found that I'm a process person rather than a product person, which means I just want to cut up fabric, sew it back together in a different manner and I don't really need a finished project, but I plan to turn over a new leaf in 2013 I'm going to dig into all those UFO's and finish them up!  I've also blogged since 2007, but life has gotten in the way over the years so posting has been sporadic, but I am now going to journal about my adventures in quilting. I'd love to share what I've learned about quilting and what I hope to learn and all those quilts that I plan to finish this year!  I've d

Latest Project - Crayon Curtains

Well, I visited my daughter and she convinced me to sew some curtains for her daughter's pre-school classroom. It's my daughter's design, based loosely on a Pinterest photo. LOL Here's the latest photo, what do you think? I'll keep you updated on my progress. I have a bunch of projects that I want to share. Just need to get an app that works to upload my pics from my iPhone or iPad, have any suggestions?  I need an easy way to upload photos and then I'll use my computer to write the blog itself. What do you use?
