My Bad - Again


Ouch, my face is so flushed. I haven't posted in ages.  Discussion over. No excuses offered.

Now, I have been asked to create a blue/white quilt. Here's some images from EQ7.  Which is better?  King size so there's a 12" drop.

Any better ideas out there?  My first stab at designing so I need advice. TIA





If I leave the white borders, what quilting design should I use to soften the endless (almost) white border? Seems like it needs more or should I just do an overall quilting pattern (E2E)?  

If anyone has more ideas, I need to hear them, pretty please?

    Well both designs are great. However anytime I see a plain white border I think APPLIQUE! Of course not everyone likes applique even when its simple. If it were my design I'd make the second one, change the corners to solid white, and let the quilting make up for the lack of color in the borders...feathers or crosshatching. Looking forward to seeing the end product.

    Thank you soooooooooo much for your comment. Helps me a ton. Ahhhh, I could do some sort of applique, but no flowers, so any ideas? I added a third choice after I changed them to white, too stark. Any better?

    I recently finished a blue and white king size quilt. For the white, I used a beautiful toile (white ground with pale blue print). The blue was a dark rich blue. Turned out beautiful. Something for you to consider. I also love the appliqué border idea, or some lovely trapunto in the quilting if you decided on solid white. What ever you decide, it will be beautiful.

As you can see by the tabs at the top of the page, I became "hooked on quilting" in 2007, but I didn't really complete many quilts...they are still here waiting for their turn!
