It's Been Awhile

I will just say, "Sorry," and move on. Life really gets in the way A LOT for me. It's been a hot summer and the pool has been very inviting. Too hot to sew outside, so "swimming" it is!!! The tree over our pool has shed its leaves directly into the pool. They are still falling, it's a bunch of work to keep them gathered up and off the bottom. Since my husband is unable to tend to the outside work (or inside), I've taken on this task. I've only sucked up so many leaves one time and had to call the pool company to blow the lines. Got one of those leaf catchers, pronto!!!

Enough said, here's what I've been up to:

I decided that I couldn't pass up the Sew Sampler subscription box from the Fat Quarter Shop. This was the pattern called Moonshine and they included the fabrics so I was able to whip this up pretty quickly.  I'm really happy with my points on this one. I've added the outer borders and will update the pic soon. I'm actually loving the surprise of the whole subscription box thing!!! I really need to iron the flannel and work on my portable design wall.  I'm definitely not a photographer. LOL

Also, I decided to buy the kit for the Gravity Quilt from Jaybird Quilts. Here's Block 1.  I did buy the kit, just made sense.  I'll get a better pic, but didn't want to forget to share what I'm working on.

I'm also working on a bunch of other projects and I will share soon.  I think I might have 20 projects in the works that I've been trying to spend a few minutes on once a week, at least, so they don't drop off my radar. Soon, thanks for reading.

I'm thinking about doing Instagram for my progress steps so I can just take a pic and post. Write about them after they are finished, although, that might mean I never post on the blog. HeeHee  Do you Instagram?  I'd love to follow you. Please share if you use it to post your quilt project steps/progress. Thanks.

Online Quilt Festival - Spring 2009

What a great idea to host an online Quilt Festival ! Thanks to Amy @ Park City Girl! Be sure to stop by and add your favorite quilt! Well, I really want to join in this huge event, so I'm hoping that an almost completed quilt will qualify! I've chosen my Hungry Caterpillar quilt as my favorite because it is my best to date and who doesn't want to show their best? Of course, I have a long way to go, but I'm learning with each and every quilt. This quilt's story goes like this...it was a kit! I'm not ready to chose my own fabrics/colors just yet (may never be!). I got the kit and went to work trying to hit the one-year old granddaughter's birthday (missed it, of course). I simply loved its simplicity since it was panels that I just put together, but it was a good ego boost for this quilting novice, not to mention the practice I'd gotten! So, I loaded on my new HQ16 with the ProStitcher and it sat until I found a digital pattern to go with it. Once again, I

Grow Your Blog Party

THIS GIVEAWAY IS OVER. Next time???? Winner announced here . Welcome to the Grow Your Blog Party that is being hosted by Vicki of 2 Bags Full ! As you can see by the tabs at the top of the page, I became "hooked on quilting" in 2007, but I didn't really complete many quilts...they are still here waiting for their turn! LOL I have found that I'm a process person rather than a product person, which means I just want to cut up fabric, sew it back together in a different manner and I don't really need a finished project, but I plan to turn over a new leaf in 2013 I'm going to dig into all those UFO's and finish them up!  I've also blogged since 2007, but life has gotten in the way over the years so posting has been sporadic, but I am now going to journal about my adventures in quilting. I'd love to share what I've learned about quilting and what I hope to learn and all those quilts that I plan to finish this year!  I've d

Latest Project - Crayon Curtains

Well, I visited my daughter and she convinced me to sew some curtains for her daughter's pre-school classroom. It's my daughter's design, based loosely on a Pinterest photo. LOL Here's the latest photo, what do you think? I'll keep you updated on my progress. I have a bunch of projects that I want to share. Just need to get an app that works to upload my pics from my iPhone or iPad, have any suggestions?  I need an easy way to upload photos and then I'll use my computer to write the blog itself. What do you use?
